The Eight Taihang Passages represent a distinctive land transportation route and linear cultural heritage in ancient China.Throughout its extensive history, people have established pass stations, constructed settlements, and cultivated agriculture along the passages, giving rise to a traditional landscape system that seamlessly integrates the natural environment with artificial construction.By examining and elucidating the historical context, spatial location, and landscape value of the Eight Taihang Passages, the traditional landscape characteristics along the passages are systematically explored, considering both natural and artificial dimensions.Based on this exploration, the traditional landscape system along the Eight Taihang Passages is delineated to clarify the mutual influence and coupling between the natural and artificial landscapes,as well as the wisdom of human environment construction. This effort aims to offer effective support for the translation and reproduction of the traditional regional landscape along the Eight Taihang Passages and facilitate sustainable social and economic development from a new perspective.
