From Image Fragments to Language System:Study on the Language Structure of Jiangnan Vernacular Landscape Based on the Analysis on"The Pictures of Tilling and Weaving"
Based on the cognition of"The Pictures of Tilling and Weaving"and the vernacular landscape in it,the study is conducted mainly based on structural analyses and the refinement of linguistic types.Taking"The Pictures of Tilling and Weaving"as the main object and clue,and combining the relevant agricultural historical documents,several types of landscape structure connecting to agricultural production,including the"water-polder-settlement-mountain","polder-field-yard-building"and"water-yard-building",are deduced and summarized.With the structural links between the types,a structural system of vernacular landscape language is constructed.The system can be seen as a re-interpretation of the historical Jiangnan vernacular landscape based on the traditional agriculture,but also a synchronous linguistic medium with contemporary transitional possibilities.
