Landscape Sensitivity Assessment in the UK:A Landscape Management Tool to Assist in Planning and Development Decision-making
Predicting landscape changes and their resulting impacts according to limited development information is an important step to guide the formulation of spatial strategic planning.Landscape Sensitivity Assessment(LSA)in the UK,based on Landscape Character Assessment(LCA),provides a comprehensive,clear and easy-to-understand method to assist planning and development decision-making.This paper views landscape sensitivity from the perspective of landscape characteristics,systematically introduces the development and methods of LSA in the UK,and shows its key steps and applicability in different scales through case studies.At last,it puts forward the reference and application prospect of LSA in China.
