The Impact of Centralized Procurement for Coronary Stents on the Treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction
Objective:Acute myocardial infarction(AMI)seriously threatens people's health, and the medical expenses of AMI have become a significant economic burden for Chinese residents.Since 2021,the centralized procurement policy for coronary stents has been implemented in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This study aims to evaluate the actual effectiveness of the centralized procurement policy for coronary stents after its implementation in Guangxi. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on the first-page data of medical records of patients discharged from a tertiary hospital in Guangxi with the primary diagnosis of AMI from January 1,2019 to December 31,2023.The cases were divided into a pre-procurement group and a post-procurement group. The PCI treatment rate and hospitalization costs were compared between the two groups. Results:The PCI treatment rate for AMI in the pre-procurement group was 81.3%,while in the post-procurement group,it was 85.6%,increasing by 4.3%.Logistic regression analysis showed that the difference was statistically significant(P=0.033).After centralized procurement of coronary stents, the total hospitalization costs for patients with AMI undergoing PCI decreased.Multiple linear analysis showed that the difference was statistically significant(P=0.037).Conclusion:The implementation of the centralized procurement policy for coronary stents has achieved positive results.
