Mechanisms,International Experience and Improvement Path of Retail Pharmacies in Chronic Disease Management
The intensification of the aging process has led to a substantial demand for health management of chronic disease. In recent years, retail pharmacies, with their convenience and cost-effectiveness,have increasingly demonstrated their role in chronic disease management, gradually becoming important service stations and platforms of chronic disease prevention and control.Particularly, the outpatient mutual aid guarantee reform under employees'medical insurance has incorporated designated retail pharmacies into reimbursement of outpatient pooling, providing strategic opportunities for the in-depth development of pharmacies. This paper analyzes the mechanisms of retail pharmacies'participation in chronic disease management, focusing on the characteristics and needs of the chronic disease patient group.Practice in developed countries presents four innovative mechanisms:multi-stakeholder collaboration, classified and graded management, specialized pharmacist training, and digital service, which offer valuable experience and lessons for China. To further promote the transformation and upgrading of chronic disease management services in retail pharmacies,it is essential to optimize development pathways by clarifying positioning, cultivating talents, improving prescription circulation, innovating service methods, and strengthening medical insurance regulation.
