To evaluate the clinical effect of Shugan Xiaobang Decoction combined with YAG laser on melasma based on skin barrier function and oxidative stress index
Objective To evaluate the feasibility of Shugan Xiaobang Decoction combined with YAG laser in the treatment of melasma based on skin barrier function and oxidative stress indexes. Methods 108 patients with melasma admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Xinyang Vocational and Technical College were selected from August 2021 to March 2023 and divided into control group(54 cases)and research group(54 cases). The grouping method was random number table. The control group received YAG laser treatment, and the study group received Shugan Xiaoban decoction combined with YAG laser treatment. Both groups were treated for 20 weeks continuously. The clinical efficacy, skin lesions, skin barrier function, serum superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA),lipid peroxides(LPO)levels, skin disease quality of life index(DLQI),self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and liver depression syndrome score before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total clinical effective rate of the study group was higher(compared with the two groups after treatment).Skin area, skin color score, transepidermal water loss value, melanin content,DLQI,SDS,SAS,liver stagnation syndrome score, serum MDA and LPO levels were all decreased in both groups(compared with before treatment),and the levels in the study group were lower(compared between groups). The water content of stratum corneum and the level of serum SOD in both groups were increased(after treatment compared with before treatment),and the level in the study group was higher(compared between groups),both P<0.05.Conclusion Shugan Xiaoban Decoction combined with YAG laser therapy can help improve skin barrier function, psychological state, relieve clinical symptoms, inhibit oxidative stress reaction and improve quality of life in patients with melasma, and the clinical effect is significant.
