The relationships between the female's lip soft tissue thickness and lip recovery during the orthodontic treatment of Angle Class Ⅰ protrusion malocclusion patients in Guangdong province
Objective To study the relationships between the female's lip soft tissue thickness and lip recovery during the orthodontic treatment of Angle Class Ⅰ protrusion malocclusion patients in Guangdong province. Methods 120 female patients treated from January 2020 to December 2023 in our orthodontics department were selected. The skull lateral projection was used to measure the lip soft tissue thickness.Patients were assigned to thin group, even group and thick group. The correlations of incisor tooth upper lib recovery rates and lip thickness with the incisor tooth upper limb were analyzed. Results △ Is-Y and △ Ls-Y values among three groups were significantly different(P<0.05);the lip recovery degrees in thin group were high, but low in thick group;before and after the orthodontic treatment, the lip soft tissue thickness in thick group was higher than thin group and even group;the soft tissue thickness for three groups was changed, especially for the thin group(P<0.05);the lip soft tissue thickness was negatively correlated with the lip recovery degrees;the higher the lip recovery degree was,the thinner the lip soft tissue thickness was(P<0.05).Conclusion During the orthodontic treatment of Angle Class Ⅰ protrusion malocclusion, the female's lip soft tissue thickness is negatively correlated with the patient's lip recovery degrees. Therefore, the specific measures shall be taken to ensure the final treatment effects.
