Research progress of xanthan gum-based novel wound dressing
Xanthan gum has significant value in the biomedical field.Xanthan gum-based wound dressings have been developed as an emerging material in the field of wound healing in a variety of dressing types.This paper reviews xanthan gum-based novel wound dressings,such as hydrogel-based,3D-printed,and sponge-based dressings,and summarizes recent advances in their use for wound healing.Xanthan gum-based dressings have an excellent ability to promote wound healing.However,each dressing has its shortcomings,and therefore xanthan gum-based wound dressings need to receive more attention and expanded research to meet the needs of the wound healing process.
