Clinical observation of the effect of Invialign orthodontic appliance combined with Damon Q self-locking bracket on dental malocclusion
Objective To explore the clinical effect of using Invialign appliances combined with Damon Q self-locking brackets in the treatment of patients with dental malocclusion. Methods 96 patients with dental malocclusion admitted to our hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected and divided into two groups, each with 48 cases, according to different treatment plans. The control group was treated with Damon Q self-locking brackets, and based on this, the observation group was treated with Invialign appliances.Compare the interval between follow-up visits, periodontal index, cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)results, and patient satisfaction between two groups. Results The observation group had a follow-up interval of(16.23±2.04)weeks,while the control group had a follow-up interval of(8.35±1.51)weeks.There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The comparison of periodontal indicators and CBCT examination results between the two groups before and after treatment showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).After treatment, the periodontal indicators of both groups were higher than before treatment, and the CBCT examination results were lower than before treatment. The observation group had higher satisfaction, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared to using Damon Q self-locking brackets alone for treatment of malocclusion, the use of Invialign appliances as an adjunctive treatment can achieve ideal orthodontic effects in patients with malocclusion. It has a smaller impact on the patient's periodontal index,is beneficial for improving CBCT examination indicators, prolongs the interval between follow-up visits, increases patient satisfaction, and has higher application value.
