The effect of early warning nursing combined with medical elastic mesh cap on the complications and comfort of non-invasive orthodontic treatment for congenital auricular malformations in children
Objective To observe the effect of early warning nursing combined with medical elastic mesh caps on the complications and comfort of non-invasive orthodontic treatment for congenital auricular malformations in children.Method 82 children with congenital auricular malformations admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to June 2023 were selected.They were grouped according to the implementation time of early warning nursing combined with medical elastic mesh caps.41 children before implementation from January 2021 to March 2022 were assigned to the control group,and 41 children after implementation from April 2022 to June 2023 were assigned to the observation group.Both groups were treated with non-invasive auricular orthosis.The control group received intervention with medical elastic mesh caps,while the observation group received combined early warning care on the basis of the control group.The wearing time,base detachment,incidence of complications,and comfort of the two groups were compared.Results After the intervention,there was no occurrence of base detachment in the observation group,which was significantly lower than the control group(0.00 vs 14.63%)(c2=6.474,P=0.026).There was no significant difference in wearing time between the two groups of orthoses(P>0.05).During the intervention period,the incidence of complications such as rash in the observation group were significantly lower than the control group(4.88%vs 19.51%)(c2=4.100,P=0.043).The facial expression,limb movements,activity status,crying level,comfort level,and total score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Adopting early warning nursing combined with medical elastic mesh caps can reduce the detachment of the orthosis base,reduce the incidence of complications in children with congenital auricular malformations,and improve comfort.
