Meta-analysis of the Efficacy of Laser Combined with Triamcinolone and Triamcinolone Alone in the Treatment of keloid
Objective To comprehensively evaluate the clinical efficacy of laser combined with triamcinolone in the treatment of keloid through a Meta-analysis.Methods A computer-based search was conducted in databases including Pubmed,Cochrane,Web of Science,Embase,CNKI,Wanfang, and VIP.Controlled trials comparing the use of laser combined with triamcinolone versus triamcinolone alone for keloid treatment were collected until August 2023.Two researchers independently performed literature screening and data extraction. The Vancouver Scar Scale(VSS)was used for assessing treatment outcomes and reporting adverse reactions.Continuous data and binary variables were analyzed using Mean Difference(MD)and Risk Ratio(RR),respectively.Meta-analysis of outcome indicators was conducted using RevMan 5,and publication bias was assessed. Results A total of 5 randomized controlled trials and 3 clinical controlled trials, involving 983 patients, were included.Meta-analysis results demonstrated that the overall efficacy(RR = 1.23,95%CI[1.12,1.35],P<0.0001),VSS score(MD =-1.97,95%CI[-2.20,-1.74],P<0.00001),and adverse effects(RR = 1.23,95%CI[1.12,1.35],P<0.00001)of laser combined with triamcinolone were superior to those of triamcinolone alone. Conclusion Current evidence suggests that laser combined with triamcinolone is significantly effective in treating keloid with fewer adverse effects. It proves to be an effective therapeutic approach for keloid management.
