Effects of intense pulsed light combined with erythromycin isotretinoin gel in the treatment of acne vulgaris on skin lesion symptoms and pigmentation
Objective To investigate the effect of intense pulsed light combined with erythromycin isotretinoin gel in the treatment of acne vulgaris on skin lesion symptoms and pigmentation.Method A retrospective analysis was conducted on 116 patients with acne vulgaris admitted to the Dermatology Department of Liaocheng People's Hospital from May 2022 to March 2023.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into a control group and a study group,with 58 cases in each group.The control group was treated with erythromycin isotretinoin gel,and the study group was treated with intense pulsed light on this basis.Compare the clinical efficacy,pigmentation,degree of erythema,acne condition,skin barrier function,and adverse reactions between two groups.The total effective rate of the observation group(96.43%)was higher than that of the control group(71.43%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the pigmentation and erythema degree scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The Cardiff Acne Disability Index(CADI)score and the Comprehensive Acne Grading System(GAGS)score of the two groups were significantly reduced,and the observed group score was significantly lower than the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);The transcutaneous water loss(TEWL)and oil content values of the two groups were significantly reduced,and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group.The skin water content of the two groups was significantly increased,and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups in terms of dry facial skin,flushing facial skin,local facial peeling,and burning sensation of facial erythema.Conclusion The treatment of acne vulgaris with intense pulsed light combined with erythromycin isotretinoin gel can effectively alleviate the condition of acne vulgaris,enhance its efficacy,reduce pigmentation and erythema,and improve the skin barrier function with good safety.
