Comparison of the therapeutic effects of occlusal reconstruction fixed denture repair and removable partial denture repair in the treatment of periodontal disease with dentition defects
Objective To analyze and compare the effects of occlusal reconstruction fixed denture repair and removable partial denture repair in patients with periodontal disease and dentition defects.Method A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 70 patients with periodontal disease combined with dentition defects admitted to Huai'an Stomatological Hospital from February 2018 to February 2023.They were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods.Among them,36 patients who underwent removable partial denture restoration were included in the control group, and 34 patients who underwent occlusal reconstruction fixed denture restoration were included in the observation group. The postoperative observation was 3 months.Compare the repair effect, chewing function, temporomandibular function, satisfaction, and complications between the two groups.Result The total effective rate and satisfaction of repair in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistical differences(P<0.05);After surgery, the chewing efficiency and bite force in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the muscle tenderness index, temporomandibular joint dysfunction index, and temporomandibular joint disorder index were lower than those in the control group, with statistical differences(P<0.05);The complications in the two groups were comparable and there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared with removable partial denture repair, occlusal reconstruction fixed denture repair has a significant effect on patients with periodontal disease combined with dentition defects. It can improve the repair effect, improve the chewing function and temporomandibular function of patients, increase satisfaction, and have no serious complications..
