Surgical Techniques and Advances in Subbrow Blepharoplasty
As the face ages,cosmetic changes in the periorbital region including eyebrow ptosis and lateral hooding.The upper eyelid-brow junction is a complex anatomic zone that undergoes many interconnected changes.It may affect the patient's appearance and even affect eye-opening function.Rejuvenation by means of surgery has a wide range of clinical applications.In the Asian population,subbrow blepharoplasty is mainly performed on aging female patients with eyelid laxity and lateral hooding.Such procedure has been used in middle-aged and older Asian women with certain indications to deliver good cosmetic results with acceptable postoperative scars.A variety of modified techniques have been proposed due to some of the limitations of traditional subbrow blepharoplasty,includes improvements in the shape of the incision,different fixation methods,manipulation of the orbicularis oculi muscle and periorbital fat.As different surgical techniques lead to different cosmetic outcomes,the objective measurement of postoperative outcomes using consistent criteria is an important part of assessing surgical effectiveness.
