The effect of using the orbicularis oculi muscle levator palpebralis aponeurosis and dermal orbicularis oculi muscle flap in double eyelid surgery
Objective Exploring the application value of the composite flap of orbicularis oculi muscle levator palpebrae aponeurosis and dermal orbicularis oculi muscle for internal fixation of double eyelids. Methods A total of 96 patients who underwent double eyelid surgery from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the researchers. All patients underwent double eyelid surgery with the combination of orbicularis oculi muscle levator palpebralis aponeurosis and dermal orbicularis oculi muscle composite flap. The aesthetic effects, postoperative complications, and patient satisfaction were analyzed and compared. Results The scar condition and double eyelid morphology of patients were lower at 1 month and 3 months after surgery compared to 7 days after surgery(P<0.05);After surgery, one patient developed asymmetrical double eyelid folds, and two patients developed a sensation of flesh streaks/stairs,with an incidence rate of 3.12%;The grade A healing rate of the incision was 97.92%and the patient satisfaction rate was 95.83%after 3 menstrual surveys after surgery. Conclusion The internal fixation of double eyelids using the composite flap of the orbicularis oculi muscle levator palpebrae aponeurosis and dermis orbicularis oculi muscle can reduce the probability of complications, improve aesthetic effects, increase the rate of incision grade A healing and patient satisfaction, and is worthy of promotion.
