Application of serrated incision in facial scar repair
Objective To explore the clinical effects of using serrated incisions in facial scar repair.Method A serrated incision design was utilized in 42 patients with facial scars who were admitted to our department between January 2019 and July 2022.The scars were excised along the designated line and the edges were fully sutured after subcutaneous detachment. The postoperative recovery was observed. Results After a follow-up period of 6 months to 1 year, all 42 patients achieved primary wound healing. The incision line was relatively concealed, with the scar color resembling the surrounding normal skin. The surface of the scar was flat, had a soft texture, and the postoperative results were generally satisfactory. Conclusion The application of a zigzag incision for facial scar repair is a simple and feasible method with ideal outcomes, and it is worth promoting in clinical practice.
