Application effect of porcelain veneers and porcelain fused to metal crowns in oral aesthetic restoration and its impact on periodontal condition
Objective To explore the application effect of using cast ceramic veneers and porcelain fused to metal crowns in oral aesthetic restoration and their impact on periodontal condition. Methods A total of 106 patients with oral aesthetic restoration from May 2022 to September 2023 who were admitted in our hospital were selected.According to different treatment methods, and randomly divided into the study group(n=53)and the control group(n=53).The control group was received porcelain crown restoration, while the study group was received porcelain veneer restoration. The restoration aesthetics, periodontal condition, incidence of complications, and satisfaction with restoration in both groups were compared. Results After restoration, the morphology, color, edge aesthetics, and translucency scores in both groups increased(P<0.05),and in comparision of the control group, the study group was higher(P<0.05).After restoration, the gingival bleeding index(BI),attachment loss(AL),and periodontal pocket depth(PD)in both groups were decreased(P<0.05),and in comparision of the control group, the study group was lower(P<0.05).In the incidence of complications,in comparision of the control group(18.87%),the study group(3.77%)was lower(P<0.05).In the statistical satisfaction with restoration,in comparision of the control group(84.91%),the study group(98.11%)was higher(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with porcelain fused to metal crowns, the application of porcelain veneers in oral aesthetic restoration can improve the aesthetics of restoration, improve periodontal conditions, reduce complications, and increase satisfaction with restoration.
