Research Progress on Radiographic Study of Temporomandibular Joint Changes under the Guidance of Functional Appliances
Skeletal Class Ⅱ malocclusion characterized by mandibular retrusion is very common among adolescents.Clinically,functional appliances are generally used to treat adolescent patients who are in the adolescent growth spurt.This article reviews imaging studies in recent years that have assessed changes in the condyle,articular fossa,and articular disc of the temporomandibular joint following functional orthotic treatment,as well as the effects of functional orthotic treatment on the temporomandibular joint.
