Clinical Classification Study on the Blurred Mandibular Margin of East Asians
The contour of the mandibular line affects the facial shape and expression, and a blurred mandibular margin can impart a sense of aging.Currently, there are various methods available to improve the blurring of the mandibular margin, including microneedle radiofrequency lasers, surgical procedures,thread-lifting,lipolytic or liposuction, and injectable fillers.Selecting the appropriate treatment approach is crucial for achieving significant therapeutic outcomes, serving as the foundation for avoiding technical misuse and ensuring precise treatment. For East Asian individuals, blurred mandibular margins can be roughly classified into five types based on their causes and clinical manifestations:skin and superficial musculoaponeurotic system(SMAS)fascia laxity, facial fat accumulation and fat pad transposition, muscle tension, submandibular gland hypertrophy, and bone deficiency. This article aims to delve into the evaluation methods and treatment options for these five types of blurred mandibular margin, providing clinicians with a systematic and scientific evaluation and treatment plan through comprehensive analysis of existing research data and clinical practice experience.
