The efficacy observation of bipolar radiofrequency combined with real-time temperature control in the treatment of facial laxity
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of bipolar radiofrequency combined with real-time temperature control in the treatment of facial and jawline laxity. Methods This study included 48 patients who visited Department of Cosmetic Surgery,Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University and underwent skin tightening treatment from September 2022 to February 2024.All patients underwent skin tightening using the Forma handpiece, and depending on the facial fat accumulation, the MiniFX handpiece was used for fat reduction, dividing the patients into two groups. After the treatment, the patients were followed up at 3 months to evaluate the efficacy, satisfaction, and record adverse reactions. Results Different degrees of improvement in facial wrinkles and laxity were observed in all 48 patients, and there was a statistically significant difference in wrinkle and laxity scores within each group before and immediately after treatment(P<0.05),but no significant difference was found between the groups(P>0.05).Follow-up evaluations at 1 month and 3 months showed higher satisfaction scores in March compared to January within each group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05),but no significant differences were found between the groups at each follow-up time point(P>0.05).At the end of the follow-up,41 patients reported a significant improvement in jawline contour. All patients experienced transient erythema immediately after each treatment, and no severe adverse reactions were observed. Conclusions Bipolar radiofrequency combined with real-time temperature control is effective and safe in skin tightening and improving jawline contour. The effects can be maintained for up to 3 months.
