Repair of botulinum toxin A on early asymmetry after heavy blepharoplasty
Objective To investigate the repair effect of type A botulinum toxin on early asymmetry after double eyelid reconstruction surgery. Methods A study was conducted on 80 patients with early asymmetry after double eyelid reconstruction who were admitted to our hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 and completed follow-up.They were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods:a control group(n=40,treated with conventional symptomatic treatment)and an observation group(n=40,treated with type A botulinum toxin on the basis of conventional symptomatic treatment). The clinical efficacy was evaluated, including eyelid repair effect, scar formation, appearance satisfaction, and quality of life. Results After treatment, the excellent repair rate in the observation group(95.0%)was higher than that in the control group(80.0%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The modified vancouver scar scale score of the observation group(5.21±1.09)was lower than that of the control group(3.75±0.73),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The appearance satisfaction score of the observation group(93.27±5.15)was higher than that of the control group(84.41±4.29),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The quality of life score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions The repair effect of type A botulinum toxin is ideal, which can effectively prevent scar formation in early asymmetric patients after double eyelid surgery, improve eyelid appearance, increase patient satisfaction, optimize quality of life, and has good clinical reference significance.
