Observation of the therapeutic effect of modified Chevron osteotomy on moderate to severe hallux valgus
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of modified Chevron osteotomy in the treatment of moderate to severe hallux valgus. Methods A total of 58 patients with moderate and severe hallux valgus treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2022 to January 2024 were included in the study.Patients were treated with modified Chevron osteotomy. The hallux valgus angle(HVA),intermetatarsal angle(IMA)and aofas ankle hindfoot scale(AOFAS)were compared before and 6 months after operation, and the incidence of surgical complications was counted. Results Compared with preoperative results,HVA and IMA decreased and AOFAS scores increased in 58 patients with moderate to severe hallux valgus 6 months after surgery(P<0.05).Among the 58 cases of moderate and severe hallux valgus,6 cases had surgery-related complications, and the incidence of complications was 10.34%.Conclusions The modified Chevron osteotomy is effective in the treatment of moderate and severe hallux valgus, which can improve the HVA and IMA levels of patients, and has positive help to improve the foot and ankle function of patients, improve the quality of life of patients.
