Comparison of the effects of micro implant anchorage and external arch reinforcement anchorage orthodontic methods on oral structure and chewing function in patients with malocclusion
Objective To analyze and compare the effects of mini implant anchorage and intraoral arch reinforcement anchorage orthodontic methods on patients with malocclusion. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of 86 patients with malocclusion admitted to Nanhua Hospital affiliated with Nanhua University from January 2021 to January 2024.They were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods, with 43 cases in each group. The control group underwent external arch strengthening orthodontic treatment, while the observation group underwent micro implant support.Compare the corrective effects of two groups. Results The orthodontic success rate in the observation group was 95.35%(41/43),which was higher than the 81.40%(35/43)in the control group. The complication rate was 4.65%(2/43),which was lower than the 18.60%(8/43)in the control group; After correction, the molar displacement was(3.25±0.42)mm,which was smaller than the control group's(5.41±0.96)mm.The inclination angle of the upper central incisor was(25.97±3.48)°,the difference in convexity of the upper central incisor was(4.37±0.89)mm,the bite force was(142.59±9.26)Ibs,the chewing efficiency was(79.63±7.05)%,and the red aesthetic index(PES)score was(10.11±1.59)points,which was higher than the control group's(13.46±2.39)°,(2.40±0.56)mm,(115.68±7.69)Ibs,(70.69±5.88)%,and(8.71)%.±1.63)points,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions Micro implant anchorage is more effective in improving oral structure, enhancing chewing function, improving aesthetics, and reducing complications in patients with malocclusion.
