Effect of zirconia porcelain crown restoration on edge fit in front teeth restoration
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of zirconia porcelain crown in anterior tooth restoration.Methods A total of 108 patients who underwent complete crown restoration of anterior teeth were included in this study,all of whom were from Zhengzhou 460 Hospital from April 2021 to April 2023,for retrospective analysis.All patients were divided into two groups based on different restoration methods.The control group of 54 patients received cobalt chromium alloy porcelain crown restoration,while the study group of 54 patients received zirconia all ceramic crown restoration.Patients in both groups were followed up for one year to compare the repair effects,including color matching,edge fit,gingival coloring,shape,etc.The levels of periodontal indicators and gingival creval fluid inflammatory factors were compared before and six months after repair,and the incidence of complications during repair were compared between the two groups.Results In the control group,the qualified rates of color matching,edge conjunctionness,gingival colorlessness and shape were 85.19%(46/54),88.89%(48/54),90.74%(49/54)and 96.30%(52/54),respectively.The qualified rates of color matching,edge close fit,gingival colorless and contour close fit in the study group were all 100%(54/54),and the qualified rates of color matching and edge close fit in the study group were higher than those in the control group,with statistical significance(χ2=6.615,4.412,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in gingival coloration and appearance qualification rate between the two groups(χ2=3.355,0.509,P>0.05).The levels of gingival sulci inflammatory factor indexes were decreased in both groups half a year after repair compared with before repair,and the above indexes in the study group were decreased compared with the control group,with statistical significance(t=5.179,10.520,P<0.05).The incidence of gingivitis and secondary caries in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group(χ2=4.696,P<0.05)Conclusions Compared withcobalt chromium alloy porcelain crown restoration,zirconia porcelain crown restoration can improve the color matching degree,edge compatibility,improve periodontal index,inhibit the release of gingival crevicular fluid inflammatory factors,reduce the occurrence of complications,and have higher safety.
