Clinical observation on the treatment of melasma with intense pulsed light combined with fruit acid
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of intense pulsed light combined with fruit acid in the treatment of melasma. Methods A total of 46 patients with melasma treated in the laser physiotherapy department of Guangzhou Dermatology Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods, with 23 cases in each group The control group was treated with intense pulsed light alone, and the observation group was treated with intense pulsed light combined with fructic acid. The patients in the two groups were treated once a month for a total of three times. The clinical efficacy and melasma area and severity index scores of the two groups were compared. Results After treatments, the total effective rate of the observation group was 91.3%(21/23)higher than that of the control group 65.2%(15/23),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the observation group had lower melasma area and severity index scores than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).No serious adverse reactions were observed in either group of patients. Conclusions Intense pulsed light combined with fructic acid treatment can effectively improve melasma lesions, which is safe and effective, and is worthy of clinical promotion.
