Efficacy of double-layer enhanced suture combined with cutaneous orbicularis oculi muscle resection in the treatment of senile entropion
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of double-layer reinforced suture combined with skin orbicularis muscle resection in the treatment of senile entropion. Methods A total of 60 elderly patients with entropion in our hospital from January 2021 to March 2024 were selected as the research objects,a total of 75 eyes were treated with double-layer reinforcement suture combined with skin orbicularis muscle resection. The surgical effect and the incidence of surgical complications were analyzed. Results Among the 75 eyes,52 eyes were markedly effective,21 eyes were effective,1 eye was undercorrected, and 1 eye was overcorrected,no recurrence was observed, the excellent and good rate of surgical effect was 97.33%.Postoperative hematoma and skin laxity occurred in 1 eye respectively, the incidence of complications was 2.67%.Conclusions The double-layer reinforcement suture combined with orbicularis muscle resection is effective in the treatment of senile entropion, which can effectively improve eyelid entropion and eye function, and the operation is safe and has clinical application value.
