Application of alveolar bone microperforation surgery in adult orthodontic treatment for tooth extraction
Objective To explore the effect of using alveolar bone microperforation surgery in adult orthodontic treatment for tooth extraction. Methods A total of 80 patients who were underwent tooth extraction orthodontic treatment from September 2021 to January 2023 in Puyang Third People's Hospital were selected for retrospective analysis,a ccording to different treatment methods, they were divided into study group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. The treatment time, canine movement distance, pain level, root resorption, complications in both groups were compared. Results In comparison of the control group, the time for aligning teeth, closing gaps, and removing braces in the study group was shorter(P<0.05).The distance of canine movement were increased in both groups after 8 and 12 weeks of gap closure treatment compared to 4 weeks of treatment(P<0.05),in comparison of the control group, the study group was larger at 4,8,and 12 weeks of treatment(P<0.05).The visual analogue scale(VAS)scores in both groups after closing the gap treatment for 1 week and 2 weeks were decreased compared to the first day of treatment(P<0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference in both groups after treatment for 1 day,1 week, and 2 weeks(P>0.05).The root resorption in both groups treated with gap closure at 8 and 12 weeks increased compared to 4 weeks of treatment(P<0.05),but in comparison of the control group, the study group treated at 4,8,and 12 weeks was less(P<0.05).In the incidence of complications,in comparison of the control group 25.00%(10/40),the study group 7.50%(3/40)was lower(P<0.05).Conclusions The use of alveolar bone microperforation surgery in adult tooth extraction orthodontic treatment can accelerate canine movement, shorten treatment time, reduce the incidence of complications, and have no significant pain.
