Advances in facial aesthetic evaluation of nasal and maxillary mesial incisors
Modern society places great importance on the attractiveness of appearance.Facial aesthetics,especially lateral aesthetics,is an important factor in the formation of character perception.In the clinical practice of orthodontics,improving facial appearance is not only one of the motivations for patients to seek orthodontic or combined orthodontic-orthognathic treatment,but also one of the goals pursued by the orthodontist,so that diagnostic evaluations and orthodontic plans are based on objective mean statistical values,harmonize the relationship between nose,lips and chin.In this article,we present a review of the progress of research on the evaluation of facial aesthetics of nasal and maxillary mesial incisors,aiming to provide a reference basis for the evaluation of facial esthetics of patients before and after orthodontic treatment.
