Retrospective analysis of the effects of mini implant anchorage orthodontic treatment and intraoral arch reinforcement anchorage orthodontic treatment on periodontal indicators in orthodontic patients
Objective To compare the application value of mini implant anchorage orthodontics and intraoral arch enhanced anchorage orthodontics in orthodontic patients. Methods This study conducted a retrospective study, selecting 112 orthodontic patients admitted to the Second People's Hospital of Nanyang City from January 2020 to September 2022 as the research subjects. They were divided into two groups according to the orthodontic treatment plan. The study group(55 cases)received micro implant anchorage orthodontic treatment, while the control group(57 cases)received oral arch strengthening anchorage orthodontic treatment. The treatment lasted for 12 months, and the efficacy, orthodontic effect, chewing function, periodontal index status, and complications of the two groups of patients were observed. Results The treatment effect of the research group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The upper and lower tooth socket angles,as well as the displacement distance of the molars, were smaller in the study group than in the control group. The differences in lower tooth socket angle, upper and lower incisor convexity, and upper and middle incisor inclination angle were all greater in the study group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 12 months of treatment, the bleeding index, plaque index, and gingival index of the study group were lower than those of the control group, while the biting force and chewing efficiency were higher than those of the control group. The incidence of complications was less than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions Micro implant anchorage orthodontic treatment has significant effects and high safety in orthodontic treatment.
