Analysis of the efficacy and adverse reactions of oral doxycycline combined with intense pulsed light in the treatment of rosacea
Objective To analyze the efficacy and side effects of oral doxycycline combined with intense pulsed light in the treatment of rosacea. Methods Eighty patients with rosacea received in our hospital from May 2022 to May 2024 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received intense pulsed light treatment, while the observation group received doxycycline combined with intense pulsed light treatment. The recovery effect, the difference of skin function indexes(amount of erythema, transdermal water loss, cuticle water content)and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The recovery effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the difference of skin function indexes such as the amount of erythema studied was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions Oral doxycycline combined with intense pulsed light is effective in the treatment of rosacea, and does not significantly increase adverse reactions.
