The preventive effect of dot matrix CO2 laser combined with silicon gel applied externally in early stage on hypertrophic scar after head,face and neck wound suture
Objective To observe the preventive effect of dot matrix CO2 laser combined with silicon gel applied externally in the early stage on hypertrophic scar after head,face and neck wound suture,so as to provide reference for the selection of clinical intervention strategies.Methods A total of 126 patients who underwent head,face and neck wound suture in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College from January 2022 to may 2024 were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to different treatment methods.The control group was treated with dot matrix CO2 laser after suture removal,and the observation group was treated with dot matrix CO2 laser combined with silicone gel to prevent hypertrophic scar;Vancouver Scar Scale(VSS)was used to evaluate the formation of wound scar,the color,flexibility,vascular distribution and other aesthetic indicators of the scar site,as well as local adverse reactions and aesthetic satisfaction in the two groups.Results The scores of indicators such as skin color,flexibility,vascular distribution,skin thickness,and VSS total score in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions such as local itching,local burning sensation,capillary dilation,and pigmentation in the scar area of the observation group was 4.76%,significantly lower than that of the control group(15.87%),and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(x2=4.203,P=0.041).The aesthetic satisfaction of the observation group patients was 98.41%,higher than that of the control group(85.71%),and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(x2=6.952,P=0.008).Conclusions The early application of dot matrix CO2 laser combined with silicon gel can effectively prevent the formation of scar after the suture of head,face and neck wounds,improve the local beauty effect,and enhance the aesthetic satisfaction of patients.
