Clinical observation of botulinum toxin type A combined with blepharoplasty for the treatment of lower eyelid skin laxity
Objective To explore the application effect of botulinum toxin type A combined with eye bag plastic surgery in patients with skin laxity around the eyes.Methods Ninety patients with ocular skin laxity admitted to Heze Sixth People's Hospital from April 2023 to March 2024 were selected and divided into a control group(n=45)and a study group(n=45)according to different treatment methods.The control group received eye bag plastic surgery treatment,while the study group received combined treatment with botulinum toxin type A on this basis.Observe and compare the preoperative and postoperative ocular skin condition,incidence of complications between two groups of patients.Results After surgery,the scores of eye bags,wrinkles,skin tightness,and skin color in both groups increased compared to preoperative levels(P＜0.05),with the study group having higher scores than the control group(P＜0.05).The comparison of complications showed that the incidence rate of 4.44％(2/45)in the study group was lower than 17.78％(8/45)in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusions The combination therapy of blepharoplasty and botulinum toxin type A can effectively improve the laxity of the skin around the eyes,reduce the risk of postoperative complications.
