The impact of porcelain veneer oral cosmetic restoration scheme on periodontal health of patients undergoing dental restoration treatment
Objective To explore the impact of porcelain veneer oral cosmetic restoration on the periodontal health of patients undergoing dental restoration treatment.Methods A total of 92 cases of patients with oral cosmetic restoration admitted to Jinjiang Stomatological Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects,and they were divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods,46 cases in each group The control group received all ceramic crown dental restoration,while the observation group received porcelain veneer dental restoration.Compare the USPHS scale scores,periodontal health[gingival bleeding index(BI),periodontal pocket depth(PD),attachment loss(AL)],and incidence of complications between two groups.Results After 1 month,3 months,and 6 months of repair,the USPHS scores of both groups significantly decreased,and compared between the observation group and the control group,the former had a higher USPHS score(P<0.05).The BI,PD,and AL of the observation group after 6 months of repair were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The total proportion of patients with gingivitis,porcelain fracture,tooth allergy,and loose restorations in the observation group was 4.35%,which was lower than the control group's 19.57%(P<0.05).Conclusions The use of porcelain veneer oral cosmetic restoration in dental restoration treatment can improve dental function and cosmetic effects,maintain periodontal health,and reduce the incidence of complications,with significant effects.
