Application of Transesophageal Four-Dimensional Echocardiography in the Measurement of the Maximum Diameter of Atrial Septal Defect Under Local Anesthesia
Objective:To investigate the application effect of transesophageal four-dimensional echocardiography in maximum diameter measurement of atrial septal defect under local anesthesia. Methods:From January 2019 to May 2022,20 patients with atrial septal defect underwent surgical treatment. The maximum diameter of atrial septal defect, the maximum diameter of patch for thoracotomy repair and the type of occluder selected for occlusive interventional surgery were detected by transesophageal echocardiography(TEE)and transthoracic echocardiography(TTE)under local anesthesia before operation. Results:The mean absolute difference between the maximum diameter of atrial septal defect measured by transesophageal four-dimensional echocardiography and operation diameter was(2.44±0.38)mm in 20 patients under local anesthesia, which was smaller than that measured by transthoracic echocardiography(4.52±0.33)mm,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Transesophageal four-dimensional echocardiography can detect the maximum diameter of atrial septal defect before operation under local anesthesia, and it has better application value in the selection of patch for thoracotomy repair of atrial septal defect and occluder for interventional operation.
