Design and Application of Self-Circulating Smoke Filtration System
Laser and surgical electrical equipment is increasingly incorporated for different electrosurgical and laser procedures in clinical medicine.Consequently,the smoke generated during surgery or invasive therapy is becoming a significant source of environmental pollution in the operating room.Based on the laparoscopic surgery,a self-circulating smoke filtration system with purifying function was designed.The embedded micro vacuum pump could provide sufficient driving force to suction out surgical smoke accumulated in abdominal cavity,whereas multi-stage filtration is implemented to absorb the steam and majority of the particles.Importantly,this self-circulating smoke filtration system could maintain internal pressure in abdominal cavity throughout the suction and filtration processes without human intervention.This system could thus prevent the direct discharge of smoke into the operating room,while eases the burden on medical staff and improves operation efficiency.
