Comparative Analysis of Colloidal Gold and Fluorescent PCR Methods for Laboratory Detection of Influenza-Like Respiratory Infection Pathogens
Objective:Comparative analysis of colloidal gold and fluorescent PCR methods for laboratory detection of influenza-like respiratory infection pathogens. Methods:A total of 245 patients with upper respiratory tract infections with influenza symptoms admitted to our hospital in April 2023 were selected to compare the positive detection rates of fluorescence quantitative PCR and colloidal gold methods using the results of the fluorescence quantitative PCR method as the gold standard. Results:In 245 patients with upper respiratory tract infections with influenza symptoms,165 cases were detected positively by fluorescent PCR,and 96 cases were detected positively by colloidal gold for influenza a virus antigen detection.Comparison of the two different detection methods showed that fluorescent PCR had a higher sensitivity than colloidal gold, with a Kappa value of 0.904.Fluorescent PCR had a higher diagnostic positivity rate for different virus types than colloidal gold. Conclusion:Fluorescence quantitative PCR assay has the advantages of fast detection speed, high accuracy and low false-positive rate, which is conducive to the improvement of the quality of influenza virus detection by medical personnel and has a positive impact on the rational control of influenza epidemics.
