Effects of Autogenous Iliac Bone Graft on the Curative Effect of Locking Plate Internal Fixation in Elderly Patients with Comminuted Proximal Humerus Fracture
Objective:To explore the effects of autogenous iliac bone graft on the curative effect of locking plate internal fixation in elderly patients with comminuted proximal humerus fracture(PHF).Methods:A total of 62 elderly patients with comminuted PHF admitted to the hospital were enrolled as the research objects between September 2018 and September 2022.According to random number table method, they were divided into control group(31 cases)and observation group(31 cases). The control group was treated with locking plate internal fixation, while observation group was additionally treated with autogenous iliac bone graft. The curative effect, shoulder active range of motion(AROM),Constant-Murley score(CMS)and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:The good rate of fracture reduction in observation group was higher than that in control group(90.32%vs 67.74%,P<0.05).At 1 year after surgery, scores of AROM and CMS in both groups were increased, which were higher in observation group than control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups during follow-up(P>0.05).Conclusion:The curative effect of autogenous iliac bone graft combined with locking plate internal fixation is significant in elderly patients with comminuted PHF,which can effectively improve AROM and promote recovery of joint function, with high safety.
