Objective:To investigate the imaging features of parotid gland oncocytoma and improve the understanding of parotid gland oncocytoma imaging. Methods:A total of 7 patients diagnosed with parotid gland oncocytoma from January 2018 to December 2022 were selected.Computed tomography(CT)or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)were performed before surgery, and the imaging features of the lesions were retrospectively analyzed and recorded by two senior radiologists. Results:Among the 7 patients with oncocytoma of parotid gland,4 were male and 3 were female.Local pain is the most common clinical presentation. All cases had a single mass.parotid gland oncocytoma were located in the deep lobe of the parotid gland in 2 patients and in the superficial lobe in 5 patients.Of the 7 cases of parotid gland oncocytoma,6 cases showed clear boundary, only 1 case had rough edge.In 4 cases, the shape was regular, almost circular, and in 3 cases, the shape was irregular or lobulated, growing along the styloid mandibular space.3 cases had cystic components,4 cases had solid masses, and no obvious bleeding, calcification,or necrotic areas were observed. Most of the lesions showed soft tissue density on CT images, low signal on T1-weighted images and slightly high signal on T2-weighted images on MRI images, and the solid component showed obvious enhancement on enhanced scans, while the cystic component did not,and 2 cases showed local fissure-like non-enhancement.Conclusion:Parotid gland oncocytoma occur frequently in middle-aged and elderly people and are solitary. They are usually characterized by a clear boundary with the surrounding parotid tissue, can be lobulated or irregular, grow along the styloid mandibular space, and the enhancement is obviously enhanced, sometimes accompanied by cystic components, and are fissure-like non-enhancement.When these features are encountered clinically, the possibility of parotid gland oncocytoma should be considered.
