A Comparative Study on the Accuracy of Automatic Hematology Analyzer and Blood Smear Microscopy in Blood Routine Examination
Objective:To compare the accuracy of automatic hematology analyzer and blood smear microscopy in blood routine examination. Methods:A total of 112 patients who underwent blood routine examination in our hospital from April 2021 to April 2022 were selected. After venous blood sampling, the blood samples were examined by automatic hematology analyzer and microscopic examination of blood smear. The positive rates of white blood cell(WBC),red blood cell(RBC)and platelet(PLT)detection and the accuracy of white blood cell classification(basophils, eosinophils, neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes)were compared between the two examination methods. Results:In the automatic hematology analyzer,70 cases had alarm and 42 cases had no alarm. The positive rates of WBC,RBC and PLT in blood smear microscopy were 92.86%,97.14%and 88.57%,respectively,which were higher than those in automatic hematology analyzer(75.71%,81.43%and 72.86%)(P<0.05).There was no alarm indicating that there was no significant difference in the detection of eosinophils, neutrophils, monocytes and lymphocytes between blood smear microscopy and automatic hematology analyzer(P>0.05),and the detection rate of basophils by blood smear microscopy was 10.00%,higher than by automatic hematology analyzer(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compared with automatic hematology analyzer, blood smear microscopy has more advantages in blood routine examination, but the two detection methods can complement each other and make up the disadvantages, improving the overall detection accuracy and clinical application value.
