Development of a Breath Analysis System Based on Gas Chromatography-Ion Mobility Spectrometry
The exhaled human breath, especially alveolar air, contains a variety of trace volatile organic compounds(VOCs),which can reflect the metabolism and health of the human body.In this paper,a breath sampler and gas chromatography(GC)pre-separate device were designed and a breath analysis system based on gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry(GC-IMS)was developed to meet the needs of on-line exhalation analysis. The collection and analysis of alveolar air in exhaled breath was realized. The theoretical detection limit for ammonia is 2.04 ppb.To verify the performance of the device, mixed components of coffee headspace gas were analyzed. The results show that it has a good application prospect in breath analysis.
