Comparison of the Effect of Catheter Balloon and Prostaglandin E2 Vaginal Suppository in Induction of Labor During Term Pregnancy
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of urethral catheters and prostaglandin E2 vaginal suppositories in induced labor during term pregnancy.Methods:668 pregnant women who were waiting for delivery in our hospital from March 2021 to February 2022 were selected.469 cases of induced labor through urethral catheterization were assigned to the urethral catheterization group,and 199 cases of induced labor through prostaglandin E2 vaginal suppositories were assigned to the PGE2 group.The induction status of the two groups was analyzed.Results:There was a comparison between the two groups in terms of delivery method,induction to delivery time,cesarean section,and indications for vaginal delivery,P>0.05;The usage rate of oxytocin in the catheter balloon group was higher than that in the PGE2 group,P<0.05;Comparison between the two groups in terms of various complications and overall satisfaction,P>0.05;Comparison of composite outcome rates between the two groups,P>0.05.Conclusion:During induction of labor during term pregnancy,there are advantages and disadvantages to the use of urethral catheters and prostaglandin E2 vaginal suppositories,which should be selected based on the actual situation.
