Research on Set-Up Error of Breast Cancer Radiotherapy Based on Tattoo Marking and Drawing line Marking
Objective:Breast cancer is the major disease of threatening the health of women in the world. To compare and analyze the effects of tattoo marking and line marking on the set-up error during clinical radiotherapy.Methods:39 patients with breast cancer were selected and they were fixed according to the radiotherapy setup sheet.EPID system acquired images. The images were aligned with simulation planning CT images. These aligned results for images in VER,LNG and LAT directions for translation error were calculated to means, standard deviations, systemic error and random error.Independent sample t test was applied to evaluate the differences. Results:The set-up errors of line drawing marking patients in VER,LNG,LAT directions were(2.99±1.95)mm,(2.36±1.62)mm,(2.14±1.21)mm,respectively.The set-up errors of tattoo marking patients in VER,LNG,LAT directions were(2.18±1.49)mm,(1.90±1.03)mm,(1.94±1.03)mm,respectively.The set-up errors in VER and LNG had significant differences(P<0.05).The line marking group has greater systemic error and random error in all directions than the tattoo marking group. Conclusion:The tattoo marking method can significantly reduce the patient's radiotherapy set-up error. The tattoo marking method can be used instead of the line marking method to mark the patient's body surface for radiotherapy.
