Application of Narrow Band Imaging Amplified Endoscopy Combined with Lugo's Iodine Staining Test in Predicting the Depth of Infiltration of Early Esophageal Cancer
Objective:To analyze the application of narrowband imaging magnifying endoscopy(NBI-ME)combined with Lugo's iodine staining test(LCE)in predicting the depth of invasion of early esophageal cancer. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 58 patients with suspected early esophageal cancer who underwent ESD treatment in our hospital from January 2019 to October 2022.NBI-ME(n=26)and NBI-ME combined with LCE(n=32)were used for examination, respectively. The clinical diagnostic value of NBI-ME combined with LCE examination for early esophageal cancer and depth of invasion was analyzed using Kappa(K-value)consistency analysis based on the results of pathological examination as the test standard. Results:The detection rate of NBI-ME combined with LCE was significantly higher than that of NBI-ME alone(90.63%vs 69.23%)(P<0.05).Using the results of pathological examination as a reference standard, the accuracy of NBI-ME and NBI-ME combined with LCE in predicting infiltration depth were 83.33%and 89.66%,respectively,with sensitivity of 86.67%and 91.67%,specificity of 66.67%and 80.00%,and Kappa values of 0.471 and 0.664,respectively.Conclusion:The combination of NBI-ME and LCE has certain value in the diagnosis and prediction of invasion depth of early esophageal cancer.
