The Impact of PDCA Management in Disinfection Supply Centers on the Cleaning Quality of External Medical Devices
Objective:To study the impact of implementing PDCA cycle management in disinfection supply centers on the cleaning quality of external medical devices. Methods:From November 2021 to December 2021,895 external medical devices received from the disinfection supply center of our hospital were subjected to routine management and included in the control group; From February 2022 to December 2022,implement PDCA cycle management for the 900 imported medical devices received and include them in the PDCA group.Compare the cognitive level, handover situation, and cleaning quality qualification rate of the two groups of staff. Results:The cognitive level of PDCA group staff in terms of device name, disassembly method, cleaning process, pretreatment, etc.was higher than that of the control group,P<0.05;The incomplete handover information rate and missing device quantity rate in the PDCA group were 2.56%and 0.44%,respectively,lower than the control group's 9.39%and 2.79%.The effective acceptance rate in the PDCA group was 99.00%,higher than the control group's 96.54%,P<0.05;The qualification rates of visual inspection, magnifying glass method, and ATP biofluorescence method for the cleaning quality of external medical devices in the PDCA group were higher than those in the control group,P<0.05.Conclusion:Applying PDCA cycle management to the management of external medical devices in disinfection supply centers can not only improve the cognitive level of staff, but also improve the handover of external medical devices, increase the qualified rate of cleaning quality, and have high application value.
