Comparison Study on the Use Experience and Cost Accounting of Safety Indwelling Needle and Traditional Indwelling Needle
Objective:To explore the use experience, cost accounting and safety effect of safety intravenous indwelling needle. Methods:Through a randomized controlled study,59 nurses in a general hospital were divided into two groups. The experimental group used safety intravenous indwelling needle, and the control group used traditional indwelling needle.Through the questionnaire survey, the use feelings and adverse reactions of the two groups were counted, and the number of sharp injuries, the initial cost and the end of the cost were counted. Results:The scores of familiarity and puncture assurance were(4.07±0.842)and(3.62±0.728),They were lower than the scores of control caregivers(4.80±0.407),(3.97±0.556).Significant differences were found between the two groups(P<0.05);However,the safety score of the experimental group(4.07±0.593)was higher than that of the control group(2.63±1.159).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The occurrence of safety indwelling needle injury was 0,the incidence of traditional indwelling needle injury was 0.6%while some departments was 1.3%.The initial cost of safety indwelling needle is 3 times higher than that of traditional indwelling needle, and the end cost of ordinary indwelling needle has increased by 68.84%compared with the initial cost. Conclusion:Safe indwelling needle has more advantages in reducing the occurrence of sharp injuries and cost controllability, but more standard training is needed to make sure the smoothly use of safety indwelling needle.
