A Study on the Effect of Closed Mouth Breathing on Improving the Therapeutic Effect of High Flow Respiratory Humidification Therapy Equipment on Respiratory Failure
Objective:To explore the effect of closed-mouth breathing on improving the efficacy of high-flow respiratory humidification therapy in patients with respiratory failure. Methods:A total of 300 patients with respiratory failure in the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Nanping Second Hospital from September 2021 to October 2023 were selected and divided into two groups with 150 cases each using the envelope method. Both groups were treated with nasal high-flow respiratory humidification therapy, while the control group was given no closed-mouth breathing. The experimental group was strictly closed-mouth breathing, and the intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the scores of chest tightness, shortness of breath, dyspnea, and cyanosis in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);Blood gas indicators improved after intervention in both groups;PaCO2 in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),while PaO2 and SaO2 were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);The improvement time, ventilation days, and hospitalization days in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Closed-mouth breathing during high-flow respiratory humidification therapy for respiratory failure can effectively improve blood gas levels, blood oxygen saturation, and clinical symptoms, effectively shorten symptom improvement time, hospitalization days, and reduce the incidence of complications.
