Analysis of the Significance of Early Endoscopic Examination in Improving the Diagnostic Rate of Active Bleeding in Patients with Acute Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding
Objective:To study the effect of ultra early endoscopic examination on the diagnostic rate of active bleeding in patients with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding(AUGIB).Methods:60 AUGIB patients admitted to the Gastroenterology Department of Fuzhou First People's Hospital,a direct outpatient department and cooperative unit of Fuzhou City, from May 2022 to March 2023,were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 30 patients in each group, based on a single or double number lottery. The control group underwent early endoscopic examination(performed 6 to 24 hours after treatment),while the observation group underwent ultra early endoscopic examination(performed 6 hours after treatment),followed by corresponding hemostatic measures based on its diagnostic results.Compare the diagnostic rates of active bleeding and vascular ulcers between two groups of patients, and calculate their hemostasis rate, transfusion rate, and transfusion volume.Compare the open diet time, hospitalization time, and rebleeding rate between the two groups of patients. Results:The diagnostic rate of active bleeding and vascular ulcers in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The hemostasis rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the blood transfusion rate and volume were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The observation group had less open diet time, hospital stay, and rebleeding rate than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ultra early endoscopic examination can improve the diagnosis rate of active bleeding and vascular ulcers in AUGIB patients, improve clinical hemostasis effect, reduce blood transfusion rate and volume, shorten the time of open diet and hospitalization, and reduce the risk of rebleeding in patients.
