The Efficacy of VSD Combined with Masqueret Technology in Elderly Patients with Traumatic Comminuted Fractures and Its Impact on Inflammatory Factors and Infection Control
Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of Vacuum sealing drainage(VSD)and sealing drainage(Masquelet)in the treatment of senile patients with traumatic comminuted fractures and the effect of the sealing drainage on inflammatory factors and infection control.Methods:60 elderly patients with traumatic comminuted fractures admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects,and they were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method.The control group received routine treatment for 30 cases,while the study group received VSD combined with Masquelet technique.The treatment effects,tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6)and other inflammatory factors control levels,as well as infection control,were compared between the two groups.Results:The treatment effect of the study group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);The levels of inflammatory factors in both groups after treatment were lower than before treatment(P<0.05);After treatment,the average levels of TNF-α,CRP,and IL-6 in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);The infection control rate of the study group was 96.67%(29/30),which was higher than that of the control group's 63.33%(19/30),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The incidence of complications in the study group was 3.33%(1/30),which was lower than that of the control group's 36.67%(11/30),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:VSD combined with Masquelet has significant therapeutic effect in elderly patients with traumatic comminted fracture.The levels of inflammatory factors are significantly reduced after treatment,the infection control of patients is improved,and the incidence of complications is reduced,indicating that combined therapy has high clinical application value.
