Peripheral nerve injury is a common clinical disease, which is often accompanied by sensory impairment, limited activity and other limb dysfunction no matter it is acute injury or chronic injury. The patients suffer from huge psychological burden because of the high disability rate, which also brings economic burden to the family,so the relevant medical professionals are highly concerned about how to effectively treat such diseases.Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can improve oxygen delivery, induce angiogenesis, and have biological effects such as anti-apoptosis,anti-inflammation,anti-lipid peroxidation etc.,showing an attractive situation in the treatment of peripheral nerve injury. In this paper, the role of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in acute and chronic peripheral nerve injury was reviewed and summarized to provide theoretical support and guidance for the development of this technique.
