The Role of Video EEG Examination in the Diagnosis of Epileptic Seizures After Cerebral Infarction
Objective:To analyze the role of video EEG examination in the diagnosis of epileptic seizures after cerebral infarction.Methods:80 patients admitted to our hospital from July 2020 to May 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group using a lottery method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine EEG examination, while the observation group received video EEG examination. The results of the two groups were compared. Results:There was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)in the comparison of indicators such as explosive epileptic discharge, localized epileptic discharge, periodic unilateral epileptic discharge, localized slow wave activity, and left-right asymmetry of EEG between the two groups; The detection rates of synchronous seizures, deep white matter epilepsy like waves, and cortical epilepsy like waves in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of video EEG in patients can improve the detection rate of explosive epileptic discharge, localized epileptic discharge, periodic unilateral epileptic discharge, localized slow wave activity, left and right asymmetry of EEG waves, slow background rhythm, and no background rhythm. It can also promote the detection of synchronous seizures, epileptic waves in the deep white matter area, and epileptic waves in the cortical area of the brain lobe, providing necessary support for effective treatment in the future.
